We couldn't have been more satisfied with Tom and Charlie. They were full of their own brilliant ideas and suggestions, but they always listened carefully to what we wanted, and they would then design to fit our requirements. It was a pleasure to work with them, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
Services
Tom set up Tom Guy Architects in Spring 2014. After a very successful first year Charlie joined the practice forming a new partnership in 2015, Guy Piper Architects. We are a young and enthusiastic practice specialising in Residential & Hospitality architecture and interiors but also have a wide range of experience in Education.
The ideal candidate will have worked in residential architecture, proficient in Revit is an advantage but not essential. We are a friendly, creative and open studio in E1, East London, 2 minutes' walk from Stepney Green tube station. We work on a cross range of projects, mostly residential in varying scales including listed properties, across London, Oxford and Brighton.
The existing ground floor had a split level Kitchen separated from the Dining Room by a hall way to the garden. We re-configured the ground floor with a new extension to create a large open plan Kitchen/Dining room and seating area with an added Utility room. The other half of the semi drops in height 1m so to retain their right to light the extension steps back.
Working to a tight timescale and budget we updated a Moroccan restaurant to an upmarket contemporary restaurant with an 'industrial theme'. We exposed the original brickwork along with a pallet of yellows & greys, copper and reclaimed timber. We designed the feature wall using CNC cut timber in to diamond tiles, which were site painted and assembled.
Continuing the aesthetic from Skyfall restaurant (completed in 2015) we designed the second phase with it's own identity using the same materials. Reclaimed timber is used to clad feature walls which wrap around the bar and dumb waiter in a herringbone pattern with accent colours. We exposed the original brickwork with bespoke light fittings.
