Optimum Architecture Ltd is based at Nayland on the Essex and Suffolk border in the beautiful Stour Valley at the heart of the Dedham Vale AONB. We work on projects throughout Suffolk and North Essex. The company was established in 2007 by Director Stuart Davis MCIAT, who along with James Wicks ACIAT and a small team collectively have many years of experience.
Our individual skills, experience and qualities complement each other, which enables us to bring you practical advice, good design and well documented information. We provide architectural drawings for new buildings, extensions and renovations for both residential and commercial properties.

Our aim is to provide you with a design that will develop your requirements and ideas, along with our passion and experience into something that satisfies our client's needs, is pleasing to the eye, compliements the building and/or the surroundings. Our strap line is 'Get it right from the start', because, to achieve the best results, we beleive it is prudent to commit thought and energy to the design stage.
The no obligation consultation stage allows us to examine the building or site and the surroundings, discuss your requirements and go through the legal requirements. It offers you the opportunity to meet us and see examples of our work and how we operate. The planning implications, including listed buildings and projects within a conservation area.
Passivhaus buildings provide a high level of occupant comfort, while using very little energy. The 'Fabric First' approach will achieve a premium standard of construction, superb comfort, a quiet and calm space, even temperatures throughout and low running costs. A Passivhaus is built with meticulous attention to detail; rigorous design, high-quality construction and quality scrutinised components.
We are keen to meet potential new clients and will meet as soon as possible, this is normally within 1 weeks' time, but will be able to attend sooner if required. Meeting during the week is favored, but if this is not possible we appreciate an out of office hours meeting will be required. It is important to have daylight to enable us to see the building or site properly.
