Heliconia Furniture
Commissioned work for private individuals and commercial businesses. Commissioning a bespoke piece of fine furniture starts with your idea - describe the pieces that you have imagined but cannot source and working together we can create truly unique furniture that fits your space, your aesthetic and your love of quality.

Previous commissions include tables, chairs, cocktail cabinets, desks and sideboards.more. The London Plane Project is a comprehensive exploration of just one material - the timber of the London Plane tree. Restricting my palate to this one tree species, I have designed and made a small collection of wild craft furniture with modernist stylings.

In the last two years I have become fascinated by this ubiquitous London tree, sucking up our pollution and dulling the noise - doing everything for us when alive but as a furniture timber it remains underused. Between the commission furniture that accounts for the majority of my practice, I have taken the opportunity to comprehensively explore this specific tree species to discover its versatilities and possibilities.

Inspired by the 'Prairie style' or 'Mission' furniture of the American Arts & Crafts movement, this double seater settle combines the clarity and honesty of the originals with a cleaner, lighter finish as well as some design alterations. The arm rests are set at the same height as the back rest producing a running board effect enveloping the seating area.

The Elephant Park Timber project was devised by Lend Lease UK to re-purpose trees removed during the regeneration of Elephant & Castle in central London. The project saw the felled trees milled, transformed and reinstated as unique indoor and outdoor furniture within the public areas of the development.
These lovely walnut cabinets were installed in the second bedroom of a house in North London. The client requested the specific burr for the doors, the book-matched leaves suggesting a nautical theme with spindle fish and jellyfish. The project also included twin chest of drawers for the master bedroom and hallway console and mirror.
