I have a British Gas contract on my heating system but they were unable to respond to my emergency call out and I was instructed to find a local engineer and send the invoice to BG. I phoned Associated Response. Hugh quoted £120 to clean the secondary heat exchanger with acid (not a new replacement at a much greater cost) Hugh also recommended a power flush to be charged to British Gas as the problem was a recurring one and to check this out with BG. They agreed that a power flush was needed and they will do it themselves. Hugh was just happy that the system was getting the attention that it needs

Was quick in there response but that’s about it. They are chancers and look for work that is not required. Called them out to look at a combi boiler as pressure in boiler was dropping and hot water was intermittent. No problem with central heating. They quoted £600 plus vat to clean heat exchanger and the famous power flush which was totally not necessary on this repair as it was the hot water and not a central heating issue. I am not a qualified heating engineer but as a Chartered Building Surveyor I like to think that I have some knowledge of boiler and heating systems. Wasn’t convinced
