David Gregory Architects was established in 1993 and we have had much fun and excitement since. Our designs have been described as whimsical, colourful and sculptural. We see this as a compliment, as there is a delight and enjoyment in creating architecture which can allow others to share in the experience.

We believe the need to communicate must be central to all architectural endeavour. Over the last two decades, we have enjoyed designing village halls, schools, offices, shops, activity centres, visitor centres, and individual houses in Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire (we're based between Salisbury and Shaftesbury).

A core concern in all projects has been the need for sustainable living, working and playing, and this has evolved into the promotion of durable low maintenance materials, low energy technology, passive thermal systems, and an anticipation of recycling in the future.
Services
We had ideas on what should be done when we first met David, but he took the thinking to a whole new level helping us create an outstanding transformation. He was involved with the project from start to finish, and this involvement ensured work was completed to specification. This was important as we were based 200 miles from site.'
It has been said that to design a home or place to live for a client is about the most challenging task for an architect. We have often described it as a little like trying to paint a family portrait, including the landscape, characters and even the pets; capturing a family with their expectations and interplay of relationships, all needing sensitive expression and due allowance.
The boundaries of activity are nebulous and elusive; some work at home, and with schools where does work begin and play stop? Most of us spend the majority of our time working, and thus the workplace deserves special attention. As such, we have tried to make individual workspaces and overall building structures fun, as well as efficient.
If we had the chance we would all play, all the time. Small children fill the day with play, and each moment brings new discoveries and new joys. With this in mind, to design for children, and the child in all of us, is the greatest of privileges. Village halls, nursery schools, activity halls, scout camps and visitor centres have been a strong theme and area of interest in our work.
