We've used Lloyd's Tree Services quite a few times in the last year. The jobs have ranged from big - dismantling a large oak that had become dangerous - to small - trimming a leylandii hedge. They've also done some immaculate hedge laying. I've always found LTS to be very professional, completely reliable - and very competitively priced.

My interest in tree surgery started at a young age. I maintained my level of interest and at 18 studied Land Management, a four-year degree at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. In 2005 I decided to further my education and enrolled on a course on Aboriculture at Westonbirt Arboretum. Since graduating five years ago I have been working full time professionally as an Arborist.

The ideal age for a hedge to be layed is at around ten years after it was planted, though hedges can be layed many times during their life.
A. Depending on the species of tree and age, the time of year can change, but as a rule there are two times of year to be avoided for deciduous trees. These are times when the tree is using the most energy. The first is in the spring around the time of bud burst when the tree is putting all its energy into producing new leaves or foliage.
