Why you should not point with Cement based Mortar on buildings built with lime mortar and why damage is caused to stone and brick walls with cement based mortar? Since the 1950s the use of lime in building construction had virtually ceased, cement based mortars were used to repair old buildings which created increasing problems with spawlling of the masonry walls, due to the freeze thaw process.

Major alterations to single story bungalow, we created a first floor bedrooms and bathrooms with complete refurbishment throughout. A start to finish project from architects drawings, planning and building work to kitchen fitting and completion. This project in Monk Fryston was an extension to the living room, kitchen, utility and garage.

Garry and his son did a brilliant job repointing our cottage (and neighbour) which included a lot of horrible raking out of assorted, awful patch up jobs from over the years. They did a number of stone replacements for us also. The house has been transformed and it was a pleasure to have Garry and team working on our house. They were extremely courteous with the central and busy location and we were very happy with their knowledge of lime pointing and care of old stone buildings. Thank you Garry!
