Lakeland Cabinet Makers, in Penrith, Cumbria has been designing and making high quality bespoke hand crafted furniture, household items, boxes and gaming boards from local and exotic hardwoods for the past 15 years, I have made pieces for customers all over the UK, as well as sending items internationally.
Working together with customers I design and produce custom hand made pieces of furniture and special commissions, I can make anything from jewellery boxes, mirrors, coffee and dining tables, welsh dressers and libraries, I am becoming known for box making, with an increasing number of special commission boxes being made.
All my pieces are made using traditional cabinet makers skills, finished to a very high standard using oil and wax finishes for a natural looking piece that will last a lifetime. Inbetween commission work I also teach cabinet making and box making.

I have been a successful cabinet maker, making bespoke furniture for customers for many years now. In that time I have made lots of different things, but by far my favorite things to make are boxes. I love the artistic freedom, the endless design possibilities and uses. From jewellery boxes, commerative boxes to simple desktop boxes.
I am now making some stock chess and backgammon boards for sale as well as offering a bespoke chess or backgammon board service for those looking for something that is very high quality, unique and handmade. The chess and backgammon boards can be made in any size and any wood combination you desire, perhaps to match a chess set, a room or table or just to your personal preference.
