Services
Many trees cannot simply be felled because of the lack of safe space where the tree can fall. In this case we dismantle them piece by piece. During all tree surgery operations, but particularly when dismantling trees, the team need to work closely together to minimize risk to ourselves, our clients or passers-by.
Stump removal is carried out for several reasons: to allow a lawn to be reinstated, to allow building or fencing work to be carried out when a stump is in the way, or to remove a food source for honey fungus. This fungus feeds on and gains energy from dead stumps and can kill many kinds of trees and shrubs in parks and gardens.
Sometimes a bracing system may be needed to strengthen the crown of a large tree. Some branches or secondary stems have a weak union with the main trunk. Removing them is an option, but it may be more appropriate to install a bracing system to reduce the chance of the stem or branch failing. We use a non-invasive system called 'Cobra Bracing'.
We enjoy an excellent working relationship with the National Trust and have done so for the last 12 years. We carry out tree surgery, bracing, tree felling and dismantling for the Trust at Prior Park Landscape Garden and other National Trust sites in and around Bath. The partial dismantling and then felling of 2 large storm damaged Ash trees at Prior Park Landscape Garden.
We have carried out several large scale tree clearance contracts for John Sisk and Son, often including surgery to important trees which are to be retained. One contract involved several months work felling, dismantling or pruning the trees on the Bath University campus to make way for new sports facilities, car parks and halls of residence.
