Services
Floorboard sanding accounts for up to a third of our work. We have it down to a fine art! Many people try to sand their floorboards themselves, discover how hard it is to produce a good finish and call in the professionals. These DIY enthusiasts often make the best customers, because they appreciate the craft.
The client had 2 floors and was actually unsure if this floor would come up very well because it looked so old and tatty (as you can see in the pictures below). We assured her that it would look fantastic and that the surfact was no indication of the wood just 1 or 2 millimetres beneath the surface.
Last week we sanded a floor for a client living in Digswell. The family were working on a budget and trying to do as much as possible themselves and they achieved a lot. They bought and fitted an exotic strip wood floor. The floor was purchased on ebay and was apparently an 'African Teak'. Iroko is known as African Teak and it wasn't Iroko, nor was it like any Teak I had ever seen.
Knebworth is prime stomping ground for Osborne Woodcare. Infact Knebworth alone accounts for a sizeable chunk of our business. The new village of Knebworth, developed in the late 19th century, tends to be a rather affluent area. This, combined with its inhabitants enjoyment of a small country village lifestyle, makes wood floors and rustic decor a popular theme in the area.
Today we are posting a show case of a floor we recently sanded in Harpenden. This is also the first blog post we are posting that includes floor staining, as many people have been asking for pictures of other staining work we have done. There were 2 floors, the living room which was tongue and groove pine floor boards, and the hallway which had origional oak flooring (judging by the aging of the wood it was 100+ years old).

We are delighted with our restored wood floor, it looks brand new really amazing. Ben is obviously very skilled and knowledgeable leaving us in no doubt that he was the best man for the job and he did not disappoint.
Both Ben and Dan were very professional and respectful and most amazing was the fact that there was no dust or mess to clean up after completion, would have no hesitation in recommending Osbourne Woodcare.

Ben completely renovated the parquet flooring throughout my apartment in July 2021. Ben is very professional and meticulous and he did a wonderful job, using the very best machinery - with amazingly very minimal dust created in the rooms which is all cleaned up prior to varnishing. He also provides advice upon how to maintain the floor in its super finished condition. I would highly recommend Ben.........

Ben has recently transformed the oak floors in my home in Royston. They were scratched, had some stains and had discoloured with the light. After 2 days of hard work they now look as good as new. At the initial consultation Ben spent time discussing the various options and it was instantly apparent that he was extremely knowledgeable and had a real passion for restoring wood floors.

Osbourne Woodcare did a fantastic job of restoring our faded and UV damaged flooring. I would definitely recommend them. The work involved three rooms and a cupboard and his attention to detail throughout was great. Ben really is knowledgeable and we were guided by his advice and skill. There was so little dust which meant it was easy to get back to normal again. It now looks better than ever did and has an excellent finish.

The dance floor in my Royston dance studio was in desperate need of a revamp. Ben did a great job sanding and re-laquering the floor, and the quality and perfection he put into it as second to none. It looks amazing, and all the scratches and scuffs from 10years of dancing are all gone! Can't wait for my pupils to see the new floor!

Ben and Adam did a fantastic job restoring our Sapele five finger parquet flooring in Redbourn, St Albans. Unfortunately our builders had been quite rough on the floor and there were a large number of blocks missing. For a while we thought the floor couldn’t be saved. Ben and Adam worked incredibly hard and above and beyond to bring the floor back to life. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Brilliant company. Highly recommended.

Osborne Woodcare are geniuses! We had our floor sanded by another company and they left it in a terrible state, huge gouges, rough and uneven, not to mention the dust, it was like a blizzard in the sahara - we thought the floor was ruined. But Ben from Osborne Woodcare came in and has totally transformed our floor into the beautiful feature it should be. The floor is now perfectly flat and unbelievably smooth. There was also no dust whatsoever with Ben's dust free option. We would recommend Osborne Woodcare without hesitation. Ben is totally professional and his attention to detail is exemplary
