The Clerkenwell Kitchen
Tucked away in the heart of Clerkenwell, The Clerkenwell Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, Monday to Friday. We try to be as ethically sound as possible, sourcing ingredients locally, cooking seasonal dishes, and using organic and free-range produce. Every week day we prepare six lunch dishes and a selection of sandwiches freshly-made to order.

Before opening The Clerkenwell Kitchen, Emma worked for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage in Dorset, and Laura was head chef at La Fromagerie in Marylebone. Both are passionate about sourcing the best ingredients and building relationships with local producers using traditional farming methods.

The principles of good home cooking are clearly reflected at The Clerkenwell Kitchen, which specialises in simple and well-prepared food, with jams, chutneys, pastries and breads, and fresh lemonade all made on the premises. Meat and dairy products are free-range or organic. Fish is line-caught, where possible, and always from sustainable stocks.

Recommend the sarnies if you work nearby, chicken mayo for me - they use warm chunky bread, generously buttered, with moist and tender chicken that feels like it's just come out of the oven...

Gorgeous roast lunch to take away (chicken, courgette&green beans, fennel gratin to die for, tomato salad and heavenly brownie) inc bottle of wine, would have fed 4 probably, all £65! A lovely light space with places to sit nearby during lockdown, independent vibe, all distanced & hygienic. Wasn’t too busy but also not dead. Major recommend for a leaving-lockdown lunch!

I had a poorly toddler to care for on a rainy day. We were made very welcome and had a gentle coffee and lunch. The staff are charming and put themselves out to accommodate us (and a well behaved dog). The food exceeded expectations and I counted myself lucky to have visited this place.

Went for a private function organised by Cocktails, Canapes & Cupcakes. Food was delicious and very filling. The area is quiet as its away from the hustle and bustle of the city and has a nice area outside for summer months.

I popped in this hidden gem in London. It's very clean and have excellent staff that were very helpful and attentive. The furniture was very nice with wooden feel. It also has a outside open area within the buildings area which will be a great place in the sunshine to eat one of their great meal that is on offer, it caters for vegetarian if you prefer. I like this place with its free WiFi and it was solid the whole time I was there. I want to visit again very soon..

Good food and lunch menu. This place has a wide selection of drinks as well. If the weather is nice, you can also sit in the beer garden.
The service is nice, helpful and quick.

I was here last Weekend - I wanted to have breakfast and am quite happy that I found this place - the seasonal soup with bread was awesome and they also have freshly baked goods and takeaway menu. Also, the service is very good and the girl that was there was polite and with a smile on her face.
