Arc en Ciel Limited was founded in 1989 - over thirty years ago. The name is French for "rainbow" - hence our logo - and was chosen because of our determination that our solutions would be both over-arching and attractive. Our first product converted scans of printed maps to a vector form suitable for use on a computer, and set a pattern that has been followed ever since by being highly functional and exceptional value for money.
The need to associate maps with locations led to the use of postcode information and in 1995 we launched our "Address" system for rapid addressing using the Royal Mail data. We are a specialist organisation with in-depth knowledge of the Royal Mail and Ordnance Survey data sets and of addressing and geo-referencing issues in the UK.

Services
Arc en Ciel provide updates four times a year, with the rollouts being the first week of January, April, July and October. Normally our products are activated online. Sometimes this doesn't work because your firewall is very secure or perhaps you have limited access to the Internet. In this situation you can activate offline.
You'll never have to type an address again! No more wasting of everybody's time asking for the spelling of road and town names. We use the official Royal Mail data so accuracy is assured. Our Address system gives you instant retrieval of any UK address from the postcode, needed only the addition of the house or flat number to complete it.
Address+ gives you full rapid addressing capabilities - right down to the house and flat number and for commercial premises, the business name. This package gives the highest speed and is especially valuable in Business-to-Business situations. In addition, the requirement that a quoted premise number tally with the postcode gives additional security.
AddressList is the most flexible utility available for generating UK mailing lists - no other system comes close! You can produce a spreadsheet of addresses for any given street, town, village, county or postcode area. Residential and commercial properties can be identified separately. Alternatively, extraction can be on the basis of administrative regions - county, district or electoral ward.
