The practice was jointly founded in 1970 by John Simpson and Angus Rennie, initially trading under the name of John M. Simpson & Co., and subsequently re-named The Rennie Partnership in 1993. Colin Brodie joined the firm in 1973. After 55 years in the profession, Angus Rennie retired in 2021.
The practice is now run by Colin Brodie, who is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with decades of experience of construction cost management.The practice is affiliated to and regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (refer to the RICS website for further details).
The firm is based in Dunipace, in the Central Belt, from where we service projects throughout Scotland. We have a particular association with the Western Isles (Outer Hebrides). Our first commission dates back to 1974, which was the new sub-regional offices in Balivanich, Isle of Benbecula for the embryonic Western Isles Council.
