Damp in buildings describes the presence of moisture within a buildings structure.
Wet Rot also known as cellar fungus, if left unattended, will destroy the internal fabric of timber. Wet Rot is a very common and much less serious property 'ailment' than some of the other afflictions that can set back your building (and your bank balance)! It is mainly caused by a fungus called Coniophora puteana which only infects very damp wood and causes it to decay, and thereby lose strength.
At Damp-Tech Hull, We have many years of experience in the treatment and prevention of Wood Worm. Amongst the many other species of insects that attack structural timber, the Wood Boring Weevil is the most common. The Term woodworm does not refer to a specific type of beetle it is just a name given to larvae of any wood-boring beetle.
Here at Hull Damp-Tech we are able to carry out the Damp Proofing, Restoration and Maintenance of Churches and other historic buildings. We understand the care that must be used when dealing with this line of work. Fantastic company, from first diagnosis of the problem to the finished job, the whole experience has been seamless. Dan and his team have been so professional and efficient and we have no hesitation in recommending Damp-tech . The site was left clean and tidy, both inside and out, furniture returned to position and great consideration made for our disabilities, even to the point of carrying our shopping from the car! Dan was very professional and responsive throughout the entire experience. I'm just in the middle of buying a house and I wanted a damp survey conducted. Within a week Dan had booked in a date with the estate agents and completed the survey at a very reasonable cost. Couldn't recommend higher! Thank you Dan!

Initial impression was fairly positive. Came round to do a quote (had to chase him for it) but no issues there. Work booked in July to start in November due to how busy he was but I was happy to wait. Work confirmed in the weeks leading up but was then cancelled 30 minutes before due to start! Since then very poor communication, had to chase him for a response, no clear intention to rebook the work despite asking for a rough idea of timescales. In my experience there are better local companies with shorter wait times.
