Services
The term Woodworm is a general description for Wood-boring Insects which applies to a large number of insects that can destroy the timber of a building unless it is preserved against them. These insects lay their eggs on the surface of the wood, into which the emerging larvae bore and then tunnel for varying periods, sometimes many years.
Dry rot (Serpula lacrymans) is a primitive form of vegetable life that derives its nourishment from timber by attacking the cellulose & hemicellulose, thereby depriving the wood of all its natural strength. Once established, it grows rapidly by pushing out fungal strands (hyphae) even through thick masonry, in its search for more timber on which to feed.
Greenfield Property Services surveys are carried out as non invasive. This means that we do not lift fitted carpets, move furniture, lift floorboards, remove skirting boards or remove any fitted units such as those to a kitchen or bedroom, nor will we tamper with decoration such as tiling and cladding.

Called out due to a damp problem in our bedroom cupboard - checked the problem, gave lots of great advice on how to treat the mould and told us the cause of the problem (roofing issue), so we are now able to call someone out to fix the issue. Offered payment for him coming out to us, but declined - such a gentleman. Would definitely use again if we ever had further issues :)
