Probably the most common loft conversions happen on these types of houses. Check the options here and you will find something similar to what you require for your conversion. You could say that it was the Victorians and Edwardians who built the capital, and they built quite a range of houses Some have cavernous rooms and high ceilings whilst others have been carved into tiny flats.
Quite often with these properties, we'll need to convert the loft with a hip to gable conversion, with rear dormer extension, using the maximum permitted development allowance for end of terrace of 40 cubic meters & for the semi detached house it would be 50 cubic meters volume allowance. So if the loft space is small right now, don't worry, we'll be able to extend the roof and make the loft space enough for you to use after we've converted it.
There are a few options, but the main two options are one bedroom with shower room and also the two bedrooms option with shower room. French doors with Juliette balcony are a great additional option Also the roof skylight above the new stairwell for natural light in the area. The rear roof is removed to form a full width dormer extension, providing the space you need & great views.

Can't say enough good things about this company. They started the loft in April and finished it in July. The delays were caused by the difficulties in getting materials due to lockdown and the shortage of delivery drivers following brexit.
Our loft was finished to a high standard with the project manager offering money saving advice as well as advice on ascetics and design. He answered our queries in a speedy manner and checked in regularly!
This room and bathroom have become my sanctuary. Thanks guys!

Dangerous, Poor Quality Building Works
We chose South London Lofts (SLL) to complete a loft conversion and ground/lower ground floor renovation on our Victorian terraced house in Catford, SE6. From our initial dealings with Craig in 2019 (the owner of SLL) we felt reassured by his promises as to high work standards and excellent service. We agreed a price with Craig which was significantly lower than quotes that we received from his competitors, which Craig assured us was inclusive of labour and materials.

We have just had an extension completed by South London Lofts. This is the second time we have used them; they built our loft in 2016. They are a very honest and hardworking group of guys; we cannot fault their workmanship. The on-site builders were very respectful, each night they left the building site clean, tidy and secure.

The only positive thing I can say is that the build itself was fast. While we have achieved a good finished product, that is at the cost of a lot of blood, sweat and tears from us, and an immense amount of stress.
As pointed out by other reviewers, you pay the initial deposit to South London Lofts and then they hand you off to sub-contractors. We were clear upfront that we had never done anything like this before and were assured that the project manager would tell us everything we needed to know.

We hired South London Lofts Ltd for our house extension in Peckham and my only recommendation is run away from them. Good price in the quote but they added a lot of additional costs (wall to be reinforced while visible from day one, door not matching and wanted extra payment ...). They have 'ever finished the work (flooring half done, no painting, door unchanged ...) and I have never received completion of the work. DO NOT USE THEM.

South London Lofts have just finished…
South London Lofts have just finished my rear dormer conversion and we couldn't be happier with the finish. We now have a lovely sized bedroom with an en-suite shower room. We also decided to upgrade to the Aluminum windows and French doors, the finish is fantastic !
We were originally told the conversion would take around 8 weeks to complete and the team finished it in 7 weeks. This has really helped me out as i now have an extra room to work from home in these tough times.
An extra thanks to the project manager 'Paul'. He was very professional and always

After seeing quite a few builders we chose South London Lofts. They were clear about the process, answered all our questions and they offered a good price. What sealed it for us was seeing a few of the jobs they had already done. One was done a good while back, which we wanted to see so we could see how the quality of the work stood up over time, and the other had just been finished a few days earlier and is a couple of streets from us. The people there told us how they had had very positive experiences of their build, and we could see ourselves the quality of everything.

We chose South London lofts as they had done a good job for a competitive price for our neighbours. They did an excellent job - they were quick and we liked that they had lots of experience doing our kind of house so they didn't ask us to make lots and lots of decisions.. It was all very easy! Since having the loft done nearly 7 years ago we have had a couple of minor problems and they have come back quickly and sorted them out with no cost. We would definitely recommend them.
