Planning permission for loft conversions in North London, Essex and Hertfordshire is not normally required. However, permission is required where you extend or alter the roof space and it exceeds specified limits and conditions. A volume allowance of 50 cubic metres additional roof space for detached and semi-detached houses.
Our clients were keen to maximise the space available by creating a spacious North London, Barnet dormer loft conversion addition to their property. We received 4 quotations for our proposed loft extension. TLC came highly recommended and as soon as we met with Connor we felt very comfortable and at ease.
They instructed their draftsman to draw up the proposed plans and were very accommodating in amending the plans, once we were happy they filled in all paperwork and submitted documents and plans into the council.
Once we got planning we had a meeting and agreed a start date. We had a lovely team (Callum and Sean to name a few) they showed commitment, compassion and are extremely hard workers. TLC were always there to answer any questions

We have been delighted with The Loft Converter. We engaged them for our project which included a loft conversion, reconfiguration of our first floor, new porch and utility room and 2 new bathrooms. TLC built my L shaped Loft and provided my family with two new rooms and a second bathroom. Even thought the build was during the Covid Lock down the TLC team cracked on and got the project finished to high quality. I recommended them to my neighbour who is now having his loft done - happy days.

We recently had a loft conversion using TLC. From the very beginning when a member of the team came round for the initial assessment, I knew this was the company I wanted to use as they were so professional and upfront about what work would be required to get the final result we were looking for. I had also been recommended TLC from a friend of a friend who could do nothing but praise their work. I had received quotes from 4 other companies prior to meeting with TLC, the quote received by TLC fell in the middle ground with regards to price, but what sold me was the way they claimed the work would

TLC converted our loft into a beautiful space and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the initial consultation right through to completion, the entire team were great and we always felt we were in the right hands. We checked in on progress regularly and the whole team were always accommodating and super helpful. As we saw everything come together, we had various requests and minor changes that were always met with enthusiasm; they always put in the effort to make sure we had our loft conversion exactly how we wanted it. Hi Recently we did the loft conversion through TLC. From planning stage till completion TLC were very professional and helpful. At planning stage we were given clarity as to what we can achieve with the given loft space. As we have a 1st floor flat it needed the planning permission which was processed by TLC. Once the scaffolding was up Project Manager and carpenter team of Mark &Tony arrived to start work. We were given daily update by them as to what they were doing and what was planned for next day. We have recently had TLC carry out our loft conversion on our house in New Barnet( June-Sept 2019)- the entire team were highly professional from start to finish with a superb work ethic ( these chaps really do graft from start to finish each day, there was no slacking). We originally kept seeing the TLC smart cars and vans driving around and initially thought as they seem to be so well established that they might be a bit pricey however we couldn’t have been more wrong.
