Bristol Stone Masonry
We operate as the main contractor, and subcontractor and can provide reports for use in surveys and historical conservation. Our team consists of experienced masons, carvers and a specialist walling team who use traditional techniques to create distinctive work. Our experienced team is highly skilled and passionate about creating beautiful stonework for commercial and domestic clients.

We specialise in heritage stonemasonry, specifically conservation and restoration, and have worked across all aspects of building fabric from historic churches to contemporary new builds. Let it not be for present delight, nor for present use alone.

Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone on stone, that the time is to come when those stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say as they look upon this labour and wrought substance of them, 'See!This our fathers did for us'.
Services
Bristol Stonemasonry is incredibly proud of our team, who have all been trained to a high standard in traditional and historic techniques. We employ craftspeople who take enormous pride in their work and who apply creativity, innovation and dedication to every project. Bristol Stonemasonry Ltd was founded 6 years ago in the beautiful city of Bristol, the heart of Southwest England.
We welcome commissions and enjoy working in partnership with large building companies, architects, heritage agencies and designers. From restoring churches and listed buildings to new contemporary builds our skilled team produce distinctive and innovative solutions.
Stonemasonry is an ancient craft that began when nomadic civilisations began forming communities and farming. Letters and words were carved into tablets to communicate between tribes and large pieces of stone carved into integral parts of dwellings and other buildings.
We work with a variety of local stones including Bath Limestone, Bristol Pennant Sandstone and Forest of Dean Sandstone. The distinctive appearance of local stone makes it perfect for dry stone walling, allowing it to blend in naturally with its surroundings. We use traditional dry stone walling techniques to build strong, solid walls without mortar, which is sustainable, as well as beautiful.
We believe the overall aim of building conservation is to preserve and protect the heritage that links personal and human histories woven into the physical fabric of places. We feel that this can be achieved with an overall awareness of the environmental impact of our work, and are conscious of this on all projects.

My experience with this company has compelled me to write this review, one which I do not take lightly, but feel that others may find useful. The entire process from start to finish was long, laborious and one in which I felt we weren't treated as a valued customer. With the exception of one member of the team, the rest sadly resembled the stereotype of 'dodgy builder'. Stay away from this company if you want competitive quotes, and quality work that is completed within a reasonable timeframe. This was a shoddy and stressful transaction from start to finish.

Poor response time to calls. The quote took even longer, by which point we had used another mason. Disappointing.
Dear Richard. This review was on behalf of my parents who are unsure about tech. It was work they needed doing quickly and found dealing with you (in particular) rather troubling.
