Michael (Mike) Hodgson has lived in the Ilkley area all his life and is a well-known local character who has been sweeping chimneys since 1989. Mike was trained by the previous local chimney sweep and took over the business in 1989, becoming the longest serving chimney sweep in the Wharfe Valley and the man to go to for all your chimney sweeping needs in West Yorkshire and the Dales.

What a lovely fella, from the initial call, to calling me back promptly, to not being at all grumpy when I admitted ours had never been swept, to scheduling a convenient time, to arriving on time, being lovely and doing the job quickly efficiently and at the price we agreed.
