We were recommended to Leaf Architecture after a disastrous experience with our first architect. We came to Richard with a fully approved set of plans which were soon discarded in favour of a design more sympathetic to the site location and features. Richard stopped us making a big mistake and it has been a pleasure working with him - even when he doesn’t agree with you he’s very nice about it! He has supported us all the way through the planning process, and is continuing to work with us as we embark on the build phase. The service we have received from Leaf throughout our planning journey has been first class and thoroughly professional throughout. The quality of work that we have received has been outstanding, and all the design work that Richard has created for us is amazing.
We have been on a fairly lengthy journey together getting listed building consent, but I couldn't have asked for a better service. Communication has been so good, with so much going on behind the scenes and Richard taking care of any problems before I am even aware of them. After a six month failed attempt to get plans drawn up with a London based architect the experience made us extremely despondent. We found Leaf and Richard Norwood and he immediately brought excitement back to our project. A very professional individual with amazing vision, great ability to take our thoughts and turn them into stunning reality whilst holding our hands throughout. Richard's designs have given us far more than we ever anticipated from our extension. It is now a unique space that works brilliantly for our family. We engaged Richard from Leaf Architecture to design a contemporary family house replacing a 1950’s bungalow. We have worked with Leaf Architecture on three very different projects since 2014. We have found them to be very professional, always offering constructive advice. Leaf Architecture have always transformed our vague plans into something which is both practically realisable and an enhancement of our own ideas. Our most recent project has been a new house. Leaf Architecture's care and attention to detail has achieved full planning permission with minimal fuss and even a compliment from the conservation officer.

He made what seemed a daunting journey easy as he explained all the stages of the planning process clearly. Richard was always on hand through his design stages to help guide us answering all our questions no matter how trivial. Our plans were passed easily with no negative objections only positive ones. Very rarely do I recommend professionals and services, but I have no hesitation with Richard at Leaf Architecture.
Since 2016 when we originally started our full house renovation, Richard has been there with us along the way.
The project was a turning a dilapidated 3 Bed detached house into 4 bed.
Essentially a two storey extension approx adding 90 square metres to the original footprint. This in many ways is harder than a new build, integrating the new and existing.
The project was delayed, (In a good way 😊 with the arrival of our first child). Throughout all of this Richard has never lost

From the first steps Richard was very good at listening to our requests and making practical suggestions to make them happen. He guided us through the process from start to finish , was always good at responding to communications and worked effectively with all external agencies. The final build is highly regarded by the local community. He is a lovely guy to work with and I would recommend him unreservedly.
