Services
Established in 1984 by Vince Hone, Great British Kitchens & Interiors is a family owned and managed business based at Orchard Barn, Badgers Mount. Originally trained as a cabinet maker, Vince decided early in his career that he would much rather design and make his own product than rely on someone else's, ultimately leading to him opening our first shop above the 'framers' on Tile Farm Road/Tubbenden Lane, Orpington.
Our traditional bespoke kitchens are all built in our workshop using 'in-frame' construction; a traditional way of building cabinetry whereby each door is hung on exposed butt hinges, with drawers on 70kg rated, soft close runners, all set within a solid timber frame. The result is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly strong and gives your kitchen the desired 'classic' look.
All of our kitchens are designed to not only look good, but also comfortably cope with the rigors of day-to-day use. They are built to stand the test of time. Our contemporary kitchens are available either 'in-frame' or 'lay on' using modern, soft-close hinges, both offering great stability for your chosen door.
According to a recent survey more than half of Brits are risking higher energy bills due to not replacing appliances when they need to. Ensuring your home has up to date appliances can not only save you money, due to energy efficiency, but it is also much safer. 87% of those questioned said that they will hold onto their household appliances until they break.

Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch helped us take an architect’s drawing and turn it into reality and all that during the restrictive conditions experienced during the pandemic. When I consider we actually were only allowed one short visit to the showroom due to national measures it is quite something!

Handmade kitchens were excellent from beginning to end and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They were great at designing a kitchen that met all our needs and were very understanding and accommodating when we need to move our delivery date (though I wouldn't recommend it, they have very full delivery schedules!) The kitchen itself is beautiful and will no doubt last for a long time.

After lots of internet research as to the type of kitchen I wanted and which companies were the best in the market, I discovered Handmade Kitchens Direct. They offered everything I wanted and at a great price, it was almost too good to be true.
The kitchen we designed is fantastic, it’s absolutely what I wanted and the quality is fantastic. I was amazed that I could have units handmade to whatever size I wanted and I’ve used almost every single centimetre available. The process was really smooth and I can’t fault anything.

We had a bespoke kitchen made by Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch and are so happy with the end product. Throughout, they were really easy to deal with, very responsive and were able to translate our ideas into a beautiful kitchen which is a pleasure to use. They were also able to accommodate things like last minute measurement changes we had to a cabinet because of an unexpected steel beam and they were able to hold our kitchen delivery back for us when our build got delayed. Delivery was smooth, everything was as anticipated and their service is excellent. We couldn't be happier with our kitchen

The quality of the kitchen is absolutely first class. Perfect kitchen. We made our own design, picked the units and then went through their designer to make sure everything was right and.
Nothing for Handmade kitchens was a problem. Brilliant customer service excellent after care. nothing is too much.

From ordering through to delivery Handmade Kitchens were excellent! They responded to emails quickly, the planning service was great, it was easy to get hold of people over the phone to discuss delaying delivery (as my builders were slower than hoped!) and the kitchen is amazing - really well made, solid and looks incredible. Can't recommend them enough.

We took a long time researching who to use for the manufacture of our new country kitchen (wanted British made). We have decided to use Handmade Kitchens direct and now that the kitchen is finally installed, we are thrilled with it!
The process was straight forward and very well organised albeit that there was a lot of work involved in planning, designing, checking and fitting etc.
The product is of very high quality and fairly priced, making it a great choice if the requirement is luxury at an affordable price. Good old fashioned carpentry with solid materials. Cabinets that are made for life
