J. M. Gibson Stonemasonry believe in reliability, hard work and an extremely high quality finish at very realistic and affordable prices. We thoroughly enjoy our job, and this is reflected in the quality of our work and the work that has been entrusted to us. The following pictures are some of our larger jobs, but there really is no job too big or small and we would be glad to hear from you for a free no obligation quote.
We specialise in restoration and have worked on many listed buildings which require a lot of skill and use of traditional building methods. Restoration may require us to remove and replace badly damaged stone, or even repointing failed joints and mortar repairs, using lime reconstituted stone mortar to match the exisiting work.
Rubble stonework is rough, irregularly shaped stones set in mortar. It can be used to fill the core of a wall faced with brick or cut stone, but it can also be used decoratively on the outer face of a wall. This is a picture of some rubble work which is part of the bar built in Dimitris Taverna in Weston-super-Mare.
