Established in 1986 Farleigh Masonry initially worked as a masonry contractor on projects in the Bath area. With increasing demand and a lack of local stone suppliers it soon became apparent that the best way to grow the business would be to set up its own masonry works. So, in 1988 Farleigh Masonry acquired new premises in Corsham and shortly afterwards set up its own production facility.
The company continued to grow through the early 1990's. However, recognising the need for a specialist stone supplier, and not wishing to compete with its own growing customer base, Farleigh Masonry completed its last major supply and fix contract, and re-focussed on becoming a key provider of Sawn, Machined and Hand-crafted masonry to the trade.
By 1995 with a changing local market it was clear that a new approach would be required, so Farleigh Masonry concentrated on acquiring new clients in the London area. In 2005, the company was again looking to expand its operation. The solution this time was to acquire the trading assets and employees of a local competitor, thus enabling them to move to larger premises in Melksham which doubled the size of the business.
