Expensive 15 minutes
We had our boiler booked in for a service recently. After about 15 minutes the engineer informed me that it would be worth replacing the magni filter - not essential but maybe worth it. - saying that the boiler was fine. He said he was reluctant to take this off to look at (part of the service) in case it broke, pointing out that there were signs of corrosion (not much from what I could tell). It was gone 3pm so maybe this was a factor.
So, the boiler check/service took 15 minutes if I’m generous and include our little chat.
The next day after thinking about the boiler service, I spoke to you on the phone. Looking on line bestheating.com informs that a boiler service should take between 30 minutes and an hour. Previous services we’ve had back this up. If I take my car to a garage to be serviced, I’m offered either a full service or a part service. These are priced accordingly.
Come on Gas Mark 1, maybe time to reflect on your pricing and service – pun intended.

I needed a new hob and was limited by size. I called 4 companies and they only wanted to refit the kitchen. Gas Mark1 were excellent from start to finish. They told me exactly what they would do to resolve my needs and the work which was completed yesterday was excellent. The electrician/gas specialist and fitter were top guys.
I paid them and they well deserved the business. My sincere thanks!!

Tom and Tom came and fitted a new water main from one side of my house to the other as main under floor was leaking.
They are both very polite very clean and tidy and left my home as they found it.
Carpets up in bedrooms and put back down no problems.

Too busy to follow up on enquiries. Had 2 appointments in person, 1 home visit for measurements and despite various follow up calls no interest in providing any sort of customer service or completing a sale in a timely fashion. On the phone heard the owner comment he has 'messed me around' before passing the phone on to another member of staff.
Appreciate the difficult circumstances during COVID but if you are able to do a home visit and have a customer visit then have the decency to follow up. If you're too busy for the custom don't waste people's time. Similar stories from others - clearly the

Would you please pass on my thanks to everyone who was involved with the job, especially to Barney, whose work has been excellent, no detail was too much for him to take care of, and this thoughtfulness was really appreciated. But the whole team have been a pleasure to work with, and the quality of the workmanship is excellent. Also thank you to John, who solved the mystery boiler issue.

GETTING WORSE!
I have been using them for years but since 2018 service and engineers and service seems to be declining.
I have started to get bad and bogus quotes for work and parts that DO NOT need replacing. Seems to be expensive and rushed lately,
so much so I have decided not to use them moving forward for the properties I own.
I asked them to proceed with some work over 1 month ago...turns out they did nothing and now come up with some bogus excuse for the delay.
In addition to this the quote seemed lazy...
My tenants Said "I have a problem with some radiators not getting warm."

Had a shower pump replaced at a reasonable cost. A very professional job by Dean, the engineer and timely after install service by Gas Mark 1. Will definitely use them again
31st May 2019 : Had a thermostatic shower cartridge replaced today. Paul did a fantastic job with his many years of experience coming in to play. I thought it was going to be a tough job taking the square shower knob off, with the right tools he did with ease. Thanks Paul and Gas Mark 1 for the professionalism
