We also have a trusted network of local builders who we have developed a solid working relationship with over the years, so we can also deal with the tender process for you.
The practice was established by James Darwent in early 2010 after he returned home to his native Peak District. James is a chartered member of the RIBA, bringing to the practice a wealth of personal architectural experience established during his training at the Mackintosh School of Art in Glasgow and working for the multi award winning Scottish practice, Gareth Hoskins Architects.

We believe it should be looked upon in a holistic sense, considering how our buildings and lifestyles affect our social, cultural, environmental and economic living conditions. Use of renewable technologies and micro generation such as biomass / ground source heat pumps. Introducing sufficient thermal mass to buildings to act as a thermal store so reducing heating requirement.

The practice was recently a finalist in the 2020 Northern Design Awards under the 'Residential Build Category, ' for our arts and crafts inspired new build house. In Build Magazine's 2015 National Architecture Awards we were awarded 'Small Architectural Practice of the Year'. We were also a finalist for the Technical Building Excellent award in 2014 for Small Commercial Projects in the the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Annual Awards.
