I entered the family business back in 1990, a business my late father Tommy Howard had started some 30 years earlier. Today the business has grown beyond belief, and as well as a being a Master Chimney Sweep, I am also HETAS approved and registered to work on all solid fuel appliances and flues. I have built up an enviable reputation of reliable and honest service, and treat every job with the same respect it deserves.
Gas Fires: Some flues serving gas fires may be swept without the need to move the appliance. This is usually identifiable by looking up the chimney and being able to see into the void area directly above the gas fire exposing either brickwork or a flue liner. If, however you cannot see this void, it usually means the appliance needs to be disconnected before gaining access to the flue.

It is recommended that chimneys are swept at least once a year, more often depending on the fuel types used or if used continually.

We contacted Steven after moving into the area to find our chimney was blocked. He turned up on time, was extremely professional, honest and courteous. He was immaculately clean along with his van and our living room after he left. Genuine nice guy and could not recommend him enough.

A wonderful first class service. I can't recommend Steven highly enough. We had four Chimney caps installed today. I phoned in the morning and Steven came out and fitted them a couple of hours later. Social distancing was observed at all times. The cost was very reasonable and fair. I would definitely recommend him and will use his services again. Joy and Stan Marshall.

Can't speak highly enough of this firm. Steven came to do the annual sweep of our chimney today during lockdown. His COVID procedures were just perfect - used a mask, asked us to stay away from his entry and exit route, arranged safe method for payment, sanitised everything he touched before leaving and then advised us to ventilate the room for ten minutes when he left. It doesn't get better than that. Stephen is honest and ethical. He even suggested that we could leave the sweep for two years (not one) because the build up inside the chimney wasn't too bad. We're really glad to have found him
