Services
Polley Garden Design was set up in 2002 by Gillian Polley and is an established professional garden design practice based in Edinburgh. Most of our clients are in Edinburgh and the Lothians, and further afield in the Scottish Borders, Kingdom of Fife, Perthshire and beyond. Gillian is a keen gardener who inherited a passion for design, gardens and plants from her mother and trained at the Pickard School of Garden Design in Edinburgh.

We'll give you a some ideas and listen to your thoughts, and we have a varied portfolio of designs that might give you some inspiration too. We'll spend about an hour and a half with you, which is free for customers in Edinburgh and Lothians, we have a travel fee for clients outside this area. Have a chat with family members and come up with your wish list - that way we have somewhere to start.
Planting plans can be the most complex part of the design process. Our designers need to consider the form, texture, colour and seasonality of plants, as well as your personal preferences. We also need to take horticultural requirements into consideration, things like soil type, the aspect of the garden, (sun, shade, wind level and frost pockets), level of maintenance, and speed of growth and establishment of plants.
