Each commission is unique and challenging but with ecclesiastical design experience extending back more than 30 years we understand the issues facing a modern parish. We have a lot of inspiration to offer your church or chapel be it reordering and regeneration, conservation repairs, community facilities, re-lighting, sustainable design, negotiating with the HLF and fundraising generally.
We understand the challenges of a modern heritage attraction and have worked with several National Trust properties and Museums to sensitively install shops, restaurants and offices without impacting a site's significance. When major conservation and repair is needed we have arranged for these works to become temporary visitor attractions themselves, through the creation of observation gantries, tours and interpretation displays.
We have always had a passion for listed buildings of the 20th Century and relish the special challenges encountered when conserving modern materials such as concrete, steel and plastics. This interest has also led to work at historic industrial sites such as coal mines, cotton mills, iron foundries, steam engine houses and water mills.
