Carve architecture is an RIBA Chartered Architects practice based in York & Newcastle formed in 2011. Architecture is our core discipline and we aim to achieve the highest quality of client service, along with technical and professional ability. Working with home-owners to create and transform their homes is one of our real passions at Carve Architecture.
It requires a sensitive and thoughtful response and involves us working closely with the individuals or family who will live in the finished dwelling. It also usually requires us to work with existing buildings, and all the peculiarities and intricacies that these throw up. We work on a wide range of non-domestic projects, including Office buildings, Residential Developments, and Masterplanning.
We are able to draw on our extensive collective experiences to deliver successful architecture for an array of varying client groups. There are many ways to renovate or extend your home without the need for Planning Permission. This is called Permitted Development.

The first step of the process is to meet to discuss your project. From here we will develop a project brief, outlining the scope of the project along with any specific requirements you may have. From this brief we develop sketch deign options. This stage is fun, we will develop a number of design options to discuss.
As a best first step, we would recommend that we come and see the property and meet with you. We can chat about your requirements and aspirations, and also consider some of the possibilities and constraints. We will be able to talk you through the process from survey, though initial ideas and statutory approvals, to construction.
