Biomass installations require regular specialised servicing which must only be carried out by special trained engineers with the appropriate experience and equipment. The engineers at Clean Sweep Chimney Services are trained and equipped to service and install most Biomass installations. We offer a specialist Chimney and flue sweeping and a consultation service for both domestic and commercial biomass installations.
It is possible that during a standard chimney sweep one of our professional chimney sweeps may advise you not to use your appliance as the flue still contains flammable deposits which are impossible to remove through standard or rotary sweeping methods. These deposits are un-burnt volatile fuel which is likely to cause a chimney fire or blockage through expansion if not removed.
The primary reason for the sweeping of chimneys is to remove flammable creosote to aid in the prevention of chimney fires. These extremely fierce fires can be very dangerous and possibly lead to house fires and loss of life. Secondary reasons for sweeping of flues are to ensure a clear passage way which the toxic exhaust gasses can escape through.
