In 1885, a partnership sought to start the operation of a saw mill in Darlaston, Staffordshire. Trade began in 1886 and nine years later, Boys and Boden was officially founded by Henry Boys Boden and his cousin Frank Albert Boys. The main customers at the time were mines and railways. Both were in need of a steady flow of timber to either prop up mine shafts or expand lines around the country.

Alex at Broughton Boys & Boden was able to capture the vision of my desired kitchen , enhancing and tweaking it in such a way I wouldn’t have thought possible regarding the layout. The final result is , quite… simply, stunning. I’ve dreamed of a kitchen like this for years, and Alex made sure to meet me with the most competitive price. Trevor’s craftsmanship in installing the kitchen was intricate , meticulous and he is extremely clean and tidy in his job. The cupboards are perfect along with well chosen appliances and finishes (👌 Alex). So happy with the result

We have had the best experience with Boys & Boden Chester in particular Alex Buchanin in the kitchen department. He was so unbelievably helpful when we turned up with our extremely basic sketch of how we wanted… our dream kitchen. Alex clearly had a lot of work to do but made time to create an electronic version and went into so much detail about what we wanted and needed to measure. He’s helped and advised us throughout our journey and nothing was ever too much - all whilst he was redesigning their showroom! Thank you so much, can’t recommend him highly enough!

After confirming my delivery for today and then phoning Shrewsbury branch at 2pm and 5pm making sure it was out for delivery, I was assured it was. Guess what? 8 pm and no delivery!! No phone call from yourselves, nothing. I’ve now had to cancel the builder I had booked for Saturday as I have no faith in you being able to provide the goods I’ve paid for. Obviously cash customers aren’t as important as your account holders!
