Services
Many older properties suffer from rising damp, where the original damp proof course has failed. Other causes of damp can be condensation, leaking water pipes and rain penetration to which should not be confused with Rising Damp. An examination of the property, externally and internally to find any issues that could be causing the issues of damp; the problems could be as simple as a leaking drain pipe.
Cavity wall ties are an important component that ties the internal and external leaves of a cavity wall together. During the construction of a property, wall ties were bedded into the mortar bed at regular intervals tying the inner leaf outer leaf together. This provides structural stability to the walls of the property.
For most people a basement is an old storage space, which is damp, cold and not very habitable. However there is much more you can do with this space by turning it into a dry living space, which can be enjoyed. The installation of a cavity drainage membrane, drainage channels and the installation of a sump and pump system is a quick and effective way of preventing damp and all of the associated problems in basements.
Timber is a wonderful natural resource that we use in all kinds of building work, however timber is also very vulnerable to being attacked by Damp, insects and fungi. Dry rot occurs when timber becomes damp and the affecting damp, has a moisture content that is in excess of 20%. This can happen due to there not being enough air circulation under the floor boards or inside the basement.
Brilliant from start to finish. Brian surveyed the property early one morning, before I went to work. He was thorough but quick, and explained everything clearly. When it came to doing the work he turned up early to get a key, and even told me that there was no point them skimming afterwards as I was getting the room plastered anyway, saving me the cost of skimming twice.

Had the rising damp sorted today. Excellent service from start to finish. Darren and Brian were really helpful and honest. The job took him a little less time due to not needing to work as hard for some of the plaster to come off the walls so he reduced the cost to reflect this! Great clean up job afterwards too. Definitely recommend.

I recently had my living room damp proofed by Wrightway. I can thoroughly recommend them for the service they provide. Darren was brilliant. The damp was of the worst kind of salt contamination. It has now been eliminated. Promptness, efficiency and value for money are words I would use to describe this company. Nothing was too much trouble and everything that needed to be done was explained clearly.
