Critical: Punctuality
Had a letter from them stating a time and date for a gas safety check through East Lothian council. The time was between 12 & 5 o’clock I waited in for 5 hours and nobody turned up. You can get charged for not getting your gas checked which I will not be paying as they were the ones that didn’t turn up. Absolutely shocking!!

Gas inspection for Your Housing Group (posted on behalf of my mother-in-law).
We called PHJones prior to the visit and made them aware I'm medically isolated as I'm vulnerable during the pandemic. They insisted the government said gas inspections had to go ahead, we could not postpone and was assured by the woman on the phone that the engineer would take adequate precautions to protect me.
The Engineer did not wash hands on entering the house, he did not wear gloves or a face mask, he did not respect the 2 meter distancing and kept getting close to my face! He insisted on access to rooms with

Lazy, incompetent workmen they just cannot be bothered! Left me in the cold for nearly a week in September! First guy said my boiler was "condemned" the next said it shouldn't have been condemned. Said he'd fix it but turned my boiler off leaving me in the cold. Texted next day to say they'd come to fix it between 12 and 6 pm got to half past 6 no one came. Terrible service.

Useless avoid always.local council tenant. don't keep appointments and lie about turning up at all. Takes 4 men 3wks to do a half hour parts job, all insulting the last man how the last one didn't know what they're doing. Left disabled tenant without hot water or heating for 2 days so far without offering heaters. Tried to tell me someone had turned up at a certain time. Unlucky, I have cctv.

Don't always assume the worst with heating companies plus it is a common fact that people only focus on the negative stuff with these types of organizations and very rarely comment on the positives.
The company itself is not terrible nor do they offer a poor service, the other reviews you are reading are from people who have only "probably" had one encounter /experience with them.
Nationally they cover the whole of the UK and at the very least carry out over 2000+ gas services a day, that is one third of their business a day!! How do know this, let's just say that I have inside information.

Absolutely terrible! Don't employ these people. The service engineer listed countless reasons why he couldn't service the boiler and then gave me a bill for "servicing the boiler" I am a pensioner and found this to be totally unacceptable, but when I challenged him about it, he just gave the usual worn out script "I am just doing my job" when I was working in Customer Services, if I had that attitude I would not have had the job long!
