Dry Rot is an infestation or decay that is caused by dampness to timber. Dry Rot will attack timber in buildings causing structural damage, it is the most serious of its type. I was aware of some negative reviews but Damp Stop were recommended by a colleague and so I decided to give them a chance.
They didn't disappoint. I had some damp proofing works done in my living room and they were excellent from start to finish.
It's a shame people can't make more effort to write good reviews rather than only writing the bad stuff!

Beware!!!!! Only deal with DS if you like to gamble and have money to spare. DS have an extremely professional facade but in reality there is deft 'fancy footwork' and creative excuses galore.
January I paid a deposit of £1, 055.00. By August and after 12 arranged appointments work not carried out. End of August I cancelled the job and requested my deposit to be returned and was told it would be done and they acknowledged this. Nothing forthcoming!
Beginning of October my solicitor sent a letter to their Registered Office as no 'working office' address is available. Letter returned to solicitor

We have just had a damp proof course completed and I am reviewing Damp Stop as Richard and Sarah have been fantastic since we first contacted them to carry out a survey when we purchased the house. The report was simple to understand and the estimate for the works was competitive. Everything has now been completed and whilst the replastering was very dusty everything was cleaned down by John and Daniel to a high standard. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending Damp Stop, excellent service and friendly staff.

Excellent service throughout. We were able to get a survey done fast thanks to a wonderful admin team, and Richard surveyed spending a good deal of time thoroughly checking out the property; excellent value. We subsequently had Martin and Tony carry out a treatment and they worked a Saturday to make our timelines, were punctual, professional and worked extremely hard. Really happy with the service provided by Damp Stop and can’t recommend enough. Thank you.

We contacted Damp Stop because we were having issues with water getting into our house and spoke to Richard. He said he would come out and do a survey of the property for us but needed an up front payment of £120.
We made the payment but he missed the appointment (no show and did not call), we called several times and were told he would be get back to us to reschedule but not once has he got back to us. They have held our money now for almost 8 weeks and will not reschedule or refund the money. Total cowboys who basically stole our money

Having had several quotes for a damp proof course we decided to go with Damp Stop because the price was competitive and the surveyor, Richard White took the time and trouble to explain precisely what was needed to address our damp problem. In fact, because I was so anxious about the process, the disruption and the mess involved, Richard visited the property 3 times (it may have been 4), to reassure me. Sarah, the Office Manager also gave me useful information and advice on the phone but I needn’t have worried. The work was undertaken professionally, expertly and with the least possible mess.
