Thank you for visiting Tyne Tees Damp Proofing. Having been involved with Damp Proofing and property renovations since 2003, I would like to share with you the basics of effective damp proofing that lasts. The 3 main types of damp are rising damp, penetrating damp and condensation damp, and each warrants a different treatment method.
The original contractor not carrying out external work: this often includes simple things such as repointing or replacing a brick, gutter repairs, sealing around windows etc. Not taking salt contamination into account. Many companies do not guarantee against salts returning and in particular chimney breasts.
Using low cost treatment methods such as traditional sand and cement rendering that could lead to condensation problems. Rendering where dampness is likely to return within the guarantee period is this period is more than 5 or 10 years. This treatment method can also contribute towards condensation problems.

Services
At Tyne Tees Damp Proofing, we pride ourselves on our reputation for high quality materials, fully trained staff and attention to detail in every aspect of our work. Given that we offer the longest length guarantees in our industry, gaining repeat business is seldom, unless clients move house or our client is a landlord or an estate agent.
Tyne Tees Damp Proofing visits countless properties where damp proofing has failed and the contractor / company that carried out the original work has either overlooked something during initial inspection, not carried out work correctly or no longer in business so guarantee cannot be enforced. Only offering a product guarantee where the products are guaranteed, but not the labour / installation.
At Tyne Tees Damp Proofing, we offer professional inspections for homeowners which will include a breakdown of works required, sketch plan and a written estimate. We carry out inspection reports six days per week, weekend and evening appointments are also available as per request. Once our surveyor has carried out an inspection, we aim to have the report emailed and posted to you within 48 hours.
Q How long is your estimate valid for? A All estimates are usually valid for 30 days. In the majority of cases this is unlikely to alter however we may choose to revisit the property free of charge and confirm this. Q Can I do my own replastering or use my own plasterer? A Yes this option is available it is something many of our builder and property developer clients like to take advantage of.
Often known as damp & timber reports. We carry out these on behalf of buyer / seller/ estate agent or mortgage broker. Although our inspections involve non-destructive testing we regard ourselves as being very thorough and diligent and often identify many damp and timber issues that have often been over looked.

Queried a repair with them. My flat had extensive work carried out (£9000) before I bought it last year. Admittedly a small area had been pulled off by an electrician uncovering a cable but the replies I've received by email are shockingly unprofessional and sarcastic!. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We dealt with this company under their previous Director Brett & received a quote for some damp works to be carried out. We came back to this company a year later to ask if a previously quote brett had agreed would still be valid and were told yes it would and they booked in a date to start the damp works. A day before the work was due to start we received another email to say the engineer could not make the appointment and further more they would now require 30% deposit andan additional Vat would be added to the bill ( not stated on the website) We emailed the company and spoke to a lady called

The team at Tyne Tees Damp Proofing carried out a wonderful job at my property. The defect was accurately diagnosed and the works booked in. The tradesmen were on time, and went about there work in a clean and tidy manner with no mess at the end of each day. This was important for us as we were still occupying the property. We would not hesitate to recommend Tyne Tees Damp Proofing to anyone who needs timber preservation or damp proofing works. Their guarantee's are also worth the paper they are written on, unlike some others.
